Recycling Solutions for Industry Experts in Marketing Waste Materials

Pails, Buckets, Drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers are mostly made of HDPE or High Density Polyethylene, but some are manufactured from Polypropylene (PP). These containers are easily recyclable in any of our market areas including BC, Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Okanagan, Alberta, Calgary, Edmonton, Washington State, Seattle, Everett, and Tacoma.

Buckets in large quantities are purchased from various industries including food, flower distribution, packaging and many more. Pails are ground into a flake or regrind form then sold to molders who make new products.

Barrels and Drums are also cut down to regrind or flake form and sent to end users in many industries.

Our services can include the installation of a baler to lessen the bulk of these containers. Bread trays and other HDPE resins are highly desired and worth money in larger quantities.

Pails, Buckets, drums, IBC and all other HDPE is recycled in BC, Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Okanagan, Alberta, Calgary, Edmonton, Washington State, Seattle, Everett, and Tacoma.

How Container Recycling Works:

Container recycling, including plastic pails, drums, barrels and IBCs (HDPE resin) is a multi-step process that requires specialized equipment and an organized process to ensure a quality end product.  Our integrated recycling systems are designed to optimize each step to ensure maximum end value of the recycled product.  Our process begins with collection and efficient transportation.  Next, a thorough inspection ensures no contaminants make it into the finished product.  Once these HDPE buckets, barrels or totes are clean, they are shredded and ground into flake.  This regrind can then be sold to a end use manufacturer or it continues to be processed into extruded plastic pellets. These plastic pellets are then sold to manufacturer (such as a blow molder, injection molder or extruder to be manufactured into “new” or “recycled” plastic products.

Because plastics have different properties and characteristics, most plastics recycling involves the separation of different plastics by resin type. The only noteworthy exception to this is plastic lumber manufacture, which can use different types of plastics.

We are committed to selecting local markets for our recycled HDPE barrels, buckets and IBC totes. We look for local uses and support North American manufacturing wherever possible. Blue Planet Recycling has a reputation for providing high quality cost-effective reclaimed HDPE resins for film, pipe, sheet extrusion and injection molding applications.

We pay or offer a free pickup service for container recycling, including buckets, drums, barrels, and IBCs. If your used containers have residue, or were used for regulated chemicals we are licensed to handle these.  Please see our Hazardous Waste Recycling page for more information.
